When Hallie Caldwell, normal girl extraordinaire, perpetual wingwoman, and queen of the friend zone, accepts her college roommate's invitation to spend winter break in New York, she figures it’s a chance to live out her childhood fantasies of a life in the big city. Instead, thrust into a world of glittering parties and oversized bank accounts, she immediately feels like an outsider.
Chris Jensen’s Hollywood agent keeps telling him that he’ll be the next big star, just as long as he gets the lead role in the reboot of a classic action franchise. When he returns to New York after a two-year absence, he has other things on his mind—his dying father, an irate sister, and the beautiful, seductive, infuriating, and ruthless Sophia Pearce. He's not exactly thrilled when she asks him to be her roommate's tour guide, but he reluctantly agrees.
When Hallie and Chris meet, they're irresistibly drawn to each other. However, Chris’s meteoric rise to stardom and long-suppressed secrets from Hallie’s past threaten to destroy their tenuous connection, and each is forced to examine whether happy endings are nothing but a Hollywood fantasy.

I almost stopped reading this book after the first few chapters - truthfully, the story was moving a bit too slowly for me. I decided to keep reading anyway and I'm glad I did. The slower pace gives the reader a chance to get to know the characters and consequently the reader takes the journey with them, if that makes sense (?). The story is not rushed and you can almost feel their emotions right along with them - their anxiety, jealousy, fear, hatred, disgust, joy, apprehension and love amongst other things. The primary characters - Hallie, Sophia and Chris are all intriguing and each of them is battling a demon or two, past and present, especially Hallie. Hallie's decision to spend her school break in NY at Sophia's opens her up to an entirely different world and brings Chris into her life. They are almost immediately smitten with each other but their relationship develops at a realistic pace. When the past suddenly rears it's ugly head, things get a little crazy and misunderstandings abound.
This is a strong story with well developed characters that are vibrant, feisty and likeable (well, for the most part). The secondary characters add an interesting dimension to the story (especially Ben, Diana and Marcus)and provide the reader with tremendous insight into the lives of Chris and Hallie.
I loved the last couple of lines of this story - they were somewhat ominous and I'm really looking forward to the next installment. The author has added a preview of the next book at the end of this one and some interesting facts are immediately revealed. Should be good!

Falling into You edition by Lauren Abrams Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Hallie and Chris had a relationship full of ups and downs and I couldn't help but repeatedly root for them to be together no matter how many times one of them screws up.
I really liked Hallie a lot. She was very down to earth and not afraid to speak her mind. She knew who she was and who she wanted to be and she never tried to change herself for anyone, even Chris. The only thing that bothered me about her was how she ran when things got tough instead of fighting. In Falling into You, she ran from Chris when things got real and left him confused and broken. In Falling into Forever, she did the same thing, running instead of fighting for love. I really liked Chris too, though he pissed me off each time he broke Hallie's heart. He was arrogant and cocky but in an entertaining way and he really did love Hallie. He made questionable decisions, acted without thinking, but I never questioned his love for Hallie, even when he was being a jack ass.
I loved their whirlwind romance in Falling into You and the amazing connection that they found in each other. They were from two different worlds but they had this immediate spark that ignited this powerful love affair. I think they were both afraid of falling for each other so quickly and they both made mistakes and hurt each other but in the end, their feelings for each other were more powerful than anything. I found Falling into You to be a little predictable, but not in a bad way.
Falling into you is one of those fairy-tale like books that you just can't help falling for. Hallie is a self-deprecating, smart, self-professed "ordinary girl" who goes to NYC over holiday break with her snobby fake bitch of a college roommate. Hallie, who has never traveled from her home in Ohio needs to escape another dreary Christmas with her over bearing mom. She finds herself in the middle of a packed party in roommates' parent's apartment. Then it all happens...well sort of. Chris, a sweet piece of man candy walks into the party and into her life. Well kind of into her life...Chris thinks she is a coat check girl! Ouch. After a night of drinking with Sophie's faux friends she escapes to a coffee shop where she runs into HIM (the beautiful guy who thought she was hired help). Out of the fog of the smoke and booze party he finally gets a peek inside that less than ordinary head of Hallie. They talk and he adores her. She is unaffected that he is an up and coming actor with some sweet screen credits to his name and not some ho bag want-to-be plastic bitch. She finds him to be endearing as he is beautiful. By a chance of fate Chris is "stuck" babysitting Hallie and has to show her around town while friend-enemy roommate is off doing her own thing. Both Chris and Hallie fall for each other in a big way...but will they fall in love or fall apart?
I loved Falling Into You. At first I was wondering if this was going to is your typical angst ridden "plain Jane meets rock star, bad boy, mogul story." It took me a little bit to get into this book thinking that it was going to be like this....then once I realized it wasn't the same old story.... I couldn't put it down. This isn't a super smut tastic read...but had enough emotional steam and story line to keep me hooked. I love my smut...I do...but there is nothing like a solid romance story... Great story, great secondary characters, dialogue etc. I downloaded and devoured book two before I finished this (which says a lot for me). I might just be falling into writer Lauren Abrams and her amazing writing.
